{Dinner with the Trumps}

A few years ago we were approached by Nakheel to plan a private VIP dinner to mark the launch of Trump Tower on the Palm, hosted by Donald Trump. Naturally, while we were really excited to plan an event for a celebrity of Mr. Trump’s caliber, the pressure was really on! With only three weeks to put this event together, we had to hit the ground running. We had to work very closely with Nakheel’s branding agency for this project, in order to keep the event aligned with all the collateral they had designed; the logo, books and short film for promoting the high-end tower.

The first thing we had to do is find a suitable venue, and we couldn’t think of anything more fitting than the newly opened Raffles Hotel. China Moon, at the tip of the pyramid, was a perfect fit for such a glamorous affair. Our color palette of black, electric indigo and silver accents also worked perfectly against the floor to ceiling glass panels of the venue. We fell in love with the space, especially as it had an amazing panoramic view of Dubai.

We created a beautiful entrance by using a star cloth drape and mirrored panels accentuated with candles and hydrangea flowers. For the dinner tables we opted for long rectangular banquet tables, and we customized a black linen lined with a raw silk indigo table runner. Mirrored vases and candle holders dotted the dinner tables and the flames reflected magically against the mirror creating a starry night effect. As it was a seated dinner that consisted of a 3 course gourmet meal specifically created by 3 of the top chefs at the Raffles, place cards were placed on a beautiful custom chocolate box wrapped in raw silk.

We commissioned Italian artist Enrico Benetta to create one of a kind illustration of the Trump Tower, and one hundred limited edition numbered and signed prints were given to the VIP guest list.

It was a magical night hosted by Mr. Trump and his 3 children. Ivanka Trump was dazzling that night, and was in sync with our theme in her gorgeous indigo gown!
